I thought the in game mod organizer was just to help you customize your mods in game on the fly? didn't think it would interfere with Vortex.

Ok great ill give those suggestions a shot! There are better mods on Nexusmods that do a better job than that pack with very little overhead on your game. Or, if you use Vortex, it has a built-in API to LOOT so it does it for you and dont believe anything you read on Reddit or elsewhere.

You can use LOOT which can order your plugins for you.

Once you've done that, you need to clean up your game folders, so to do that you will need to delete your data folder - then validate your files via steam, which will recreate the data folder for you.Īfter that, you are free and clear to mod your game however you see fit.ġ. So, before you start, choose a mod manager and stick with it. Using multiple mod managers always ends in the same result - a broken game. They all want to do the same thing - manage your mods - and they don't communicate with each other - so vortex doesn't care about any mods you installed with NMM, and vice versa, and the in-game mod manager doesn't care about Vortex or NMM. If I'm being honest with you, never, under any circumstances use the in-game mod manager because it will destroy your load order for you every time you use it. You mention NMM, Vortex and the in-game mod manager.įirst thing, choose one manager, and one manager only. It reads to me like you're suffering from mod manager overdose. Does the free High Resolution Texture Pack on steam negatively affect the game when mods are running.

How to I optimize my load order to make my mods more compatible.Ģ. What are the issues i'm facing, how do i fix them and what did i do wrong.Īnyway if anyone can help me solve these issues i would really appreciate it.ġ. I should say i have resolved all the conflicts highlighted on Vortex and down loaded Mod organizer and Fallout 4 script extender, as well as any other mods required to run some of the more comprehensive mods.

I feel i should say that when i was perusing the NM web sight, i was seeing tags on the mods saying that i had already 'downloaded' this mod or that an 'update was ready', i knew i had some of these mods on NMM but i thought as i was going to uninstall it, it would be all good. A few of my favorite mods wouldn't work such as Eli's Armor compendium, which was duplicated on the mod list in game, (or at least i haven't seen any of that mods gear yet) PipBoy Flash Fight, and a few other things i noticed such has a lot of invisible weapons witch i think are from the Weapon Smith mod. I opend the in game mod organizer but a few of the mods weren't activated and there were even duplicate mod listings. (It was only after i read about how you should uninstall any mods before you do) I down loaded around 60 mods for Fallout 4 and jumped in, then i realized things weren't right. Now i did uninstall NMM BEFORE i uninstalled any mods on NMM. Now for what ever reason i couldn't log into NMM like the actual mod organizer its self, so I thought id just get the ball rolling with Vortex and start modding through that. I used NMM for a long time but I stooped using it before Vortex came on the scene and I went on a big mod binge for Fallout 4.

So i haven't done a lot modding with Vortex til the other day, all i really know how to do is get mods from the nexus mod sight and install and activate them. Ill start from the beginning and also sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, first time using the forums. I'm going to watch some more videos about the matter.Įdit: I found this thread that complements really nice, for anyone interested.Hello everyone, I need some help/advise on a few issues i'm having with Vortex and NMM. When I say "Load Order" I was considering everything equally, but seems like that Install Order (left) and Load Order (right) are different things to be considered. Obviously, the later mod wins, cause the former texture A gets overwritten.įor the most part, you can ignore install order, when in doubt (or when things go wrong), check the (left pane) 'conflicted' filter. Now let's say, a mod at priority 5 installs texture A and another mod at priority 50 also does. It's the install order: think of MO2 installing all the mods, starting at priority 1, when you start FO4, and uninstalling when you exit FO4. Usually you leave the right panel to Loot, resp. There're 2 MO2 panels: the right panel with all the plugins and the central panel with all the mods. Originally posted by ZarahNeander:I'm gonna try.
